As the weather gets warmer, you need to change your skincare and makeup routine. Here are a few tips that can have your skin looking healthy and beautiful in warm weather.
Lighten Up
In the summer you don’t need to use a heavy moisturizer like you do in the winter. Use a lighter formula, but make sure to use a sunscreen with SPF every day.
You also don’t need heavy makeup. Instead of a liquid foundation, use a tinted moisturizer or a bronzer powder instead. Skip the dark lipstick and opt for a pink gloss or tinted lip balm instead.
Sweatproof Makeup
To insure your makeup lasts all day, look for sweatproof foundations and powders. Use a primer on your eyelids to insure your eyeshadow doesn’t melt or smear. If you are headed to the pool or beach, use a waterproof mascara or skip mascara entirely and just curl your eyelashes.
Protect Your Skin
As I mentioned, use a sunscreen on a daily basis. If you are going to be in the direct sunlight for prolonged periods of time, wear sunglasses and a floppy hat to protect your eyes, scalp and face from the sun’s harmful UV rays.
A little short term prevention can help avoid long term problems. Repeated sun exposure can lead to wrinkles, dark spots and even skin cancer. Have fun in the sun this summer, but be smart and stay protected!
