Anna Sui Night of Fancy Perfume

Anna Sui, part of a younger crop of designers, has created a new fragrance to celebrate the ten-year anniversary of the company’s in house production of decorative cosmetics.

Anna Sui Night of Fancy PerfumeEver since her start in the fashion industry in the early 1990s, Sui has been known as a polyglot never afraid of embarking on new ventures. Most recently, the designer had the high honor of being named by Time Magazine as one of the top five fashion figures of the decade.

Sui’s Night of Fancy Perfume is a definitively floral fragrance. It is often described as starting strong with the fruit-filled scent of blueberry and grapefruit leaves mixed with a hint of strawberry, only to give way to Madagascan jasmine and Sambac Jasmine absolute. The so-called base notes of the fragrance include olibanum, Cashmere, and a hint of milkshake. The result? Some would say, complimentarily, a “sophisticated chic” fragrance.

The perfume is sometimes described as a follow-up to Sui’s 2007’s Flight of Fancy. Sui’s latest comes in a purple bottle with a subdued rectangular body that invites close inspection. The lid – topped with an extravagant peacock, also purple, with wide-open feathers – hints at a decidedly romantic and evocative aura.
