Fragrance by the Season

Perfume, Scents Add comments

Though we all have our favorite perfume that we wear almost daily, it’s nice to have a collection of five or six fragrances that you really love. If you have an assortment of favorites, you can mix it up and wear a different one depending on your mood, the time of day, the occasion or even the season.

Dolce & Gabbana Light BlueGenerally lighter scents are best for daytime, while heavier fragrances are ideal for an evening out. Here is a general guideline of what types of perfume are fitting by the season. Of course, this is just a guideline. The most important thing about selecting a fragrance is that you love how it smells on you!

Spring
In the spring, consider sweet honey perfumes and citrus scents. These invigorating perfumes give you energy and a sense of renewal. Dolce & Gabbana Light Blue has just the right combination of fruit tones and florals to be a perfect fragrance to wear from spring into the summer.

Summer
Light floral scents are perfect for summer. Fragrances with jasmine and lilac notes are particularly popular. Don’t use too much perfume in the summer time, just a hint of fragrance is enough. Though some people think fragrances with rose notes are “old lady” perfumes, you can actually find some great summer perfumes with hints of roses that are quite lovely. Shania Twain from Coty is a cheap perfume that actually smells wonderful for summer.

Fall
Woodsy earth scents such as amber, musk and rosewood are nice for fall. Vera Wang Princess combines a flirty blend of apple, mandarin and apricot, along with sheer floral notes. However, it’s also finished with warm earthy amber, musk and vanilla, making it perfect for autumn months.

Winter
In the winter, heavy perfumes with sharp earthy or woody notes are ideal. Around Christmas, you can use a more spicy scent that includes cinnamon or frankincense. You can wear more perfume in the cold weather months, but don’t use too much. Extremely heavy perfume can be offensive.
