Rihanna, Kanye West Hooking Up With Jay-Z
Celebrity music artists Kanye West and Rihanna are set to launch their own fragrance lines in 2010 through Parlux Fragrances. Jay-Z’s Iconic Fragrance franchise with Parlux will launch the scents for both artists.
“We are excited for the opportunity to partner with Parlux and their management team in the launch of these dynamic new brands,” Jay-Z said. “This venture will take what is already a successful franchise at Parlux to a new level.”
Parlux has teamed up with a variety of celebrities on their fragrances before, including the likes of Queen Latifah and Jessica Simpson. More and more celebrities are turning out fragrance lines each year. Some of them are just lending their name, while others are involved in the actual selection of the scent. Diesel’s Only the Brave is Common’s new scent.
“I’ve always thought Diesel was a progressive, fresh brand — it has a classic feel, but pushes the envelope,” Common said. “I wanted to partner with Diesel because that’s really what I’m about too — to be an individual and an artist, it takes both bravery and courage.”
Common will be featured print and television ads, and will perform at select Diesel stores, including the Los Angeles location on Wednesday, May 20.
From Britney Spears to Jennifer Lopez and Usher to Hilary Duff, just about everyone has their hand in the fragrance business these days.
Expect Rihanna and Kanye West’s fragrances to be released in summer 2010.
