Thierry Mugler Angel Sunessence Ocean d'Argent

The latest Thierry Mugler Angel flanker sounds like the perfect refreshing yet mysterious scent for a hot summer day. Angel Sunessence Ocean d’Argent will released in time for summer 2011 and it is presented in a stunning ice-blue version of the original Angel flacon. This new Thierry Mugler Angel fragrance is a limited edition scent that combines the gourmand aromas of Angel with azure blue freshness and a very hot, glamorous summer. It represents an enchanting meeting between the blue ocean and the starry sky from which Angel originates. I think it sounds beautiful but definitely one to save to the height of summer. All the Angel summer flankers manage to be very glamorous without sacrificing the otherworldly allure of the original fragrance, so I am hopeful that this new scent will bring that quality to the table.

Thierry Mugler Angel Sunessence Ocean d’Argent Notes

Thierry Mugler Angel Sunessence Ocean d’Argent is composed around just a few notes that come together in a surprisingly complex way. The top contains fresh notes of kumquat and citrus fresh, the heart has a beautiful sea salt blossom accord and the base notes are patchouli and gourmand vanilla. It calls to mind the scent of Eau de Star, but with a subtler patchouli note. It is saltier and fruitier, giving the fragrance a lovely fresh yet luscious fruity flavour that feels very glamorous.

New Yves Saint Laurent Perfume: YSL Saharienne

Yves Saint Laurent Saharienne

YSL can be relied upon for elegant, classic fragrances with a contemporary feel. The latest Yves Saint Laurent perfume is no different – Saharienne is named after YSL’s classic safari jacket and it promises to capture the effortless chic and feminine allure of the brand. YSL Saharienne will be launched later this year and it is described as “the hottest of all fresh waters”. This concept translates in to a blend of fresh nuances with hot desert aromas, which sounds reminiscent of DiorÆs Dune or Aqua Fahrenheit. Personally I am excited about this Yves Saint Laurent perfume. It sounds like a proper grown up YSL fragrance, with real sophistication and feminine allure, as opposed to overtly ’sexy’ notes and the saccharine notes found in so many hot weather perfumes. I mean just look at the bottle – it has elegant feminine sensuality written all over it.

Yves Saint Laurent Saharienne Perfume Notes

YSL Saharienne opens with sparkling notes of lemon, mandarin and Italian bergamot. The heart is warm and luscious but with a refreshing refinement to it. It contains orange leaf, white flower petals, galbanum and blackcurrant bud. The base contains warm and sensual notes of ginger and spicy pink pepper.

Flower By Kenzo Summer 2011

Every year Kenzo release a new limited edition of the hugely successful Flower by Kenzo and the latest – Flower by Kenzo Summer 2011 – has just been announced. I do not have an exact launch date yet but this new fragrance will definitely hit the shelves in time for the summer. Like the previous summer editions, Flower by Kenzo Summer 2011 will only be produced for a short time, but it will probably still be available online for some time yet.

This year’s summer edition is presented in the now-iconic curved bottle but the poppy has been given a colourful new update, with a turquoise stem and magenta text on the box. It retains most of the notes of Flower by Kenzo but with the addition of a lovely fresh bergamot note and a new vanilla musk accord in the base. The bergamot note really updates the fragrance and it lasts throughout the composition.

Original Flower By Kenzo Perfume Notes

Launched in 2000, the original Flower by Kenzo was and still is a huge seller. It is a floral oriental composed around three main scents: one floral, one powdery and one woody. The floral components are cassis, gentle wild hawthorn, Parma violet and Bulgarian rose. The powdery note is a very smooth vanilla and the woodsy component comes from a gentle, mysterious blend of opopanax and white musk.
