The most popular method of removing leg hair is by shaving. While this may seem like a simple task, you should know that there is much more to shaving than just a razor, a little bit of soap, and some water. Being informed about shaving is important to prevent cuts, razor rash, and ingrown hair while also getting the closest shave possible. Here are some tips to help you get the “perfect” shave:
- Invest in a good razor instead of a disposable one. You will then get a closer shave without the nicks.
- Make sure to change your blades frequently. Dull blades will give you razor rash, nicks, and ingrown hair.
- Do not shave in the morning when you first wake up as your skin is puffier and so your stubble is not as visible. You need to wait at least 30 minutes after you get up.
- If you take a bath, make sure that you shave within the first 10 minutes of getting into the tub.
- Use a body scrub or a loofah to ex foliate your legs. This will get rid of the dead skin cells that will clog up your razor while giving you soft, smooth skin.
- Do not apply shaving lotion to dry skin. Wet your legs for at least 2 minutes first so that your hair will stand up and you will get a closer shave. The shaving lotion should then sit there for a few minutes to hydrate your skin even more.
- Never use plain soap to shave with as it will dry your skin out and the razor will not glide smoothly so you will get a few cuts and maybe even a rash.
Smooth shaved legs look more beautiful.
